The solution
We act as the Charge Point Operator (CPO) offering EV drivers charging via our app. The app, easily accessed by registered users or guests, charges for both the parking session and the kW consumed.
44 new AC EV chargers were installed across 20 locations (a mixture of on-street and off-street) across the Borough, as well as onboarding 2 existing EV chargers. The off-street can supply up to 22kWh charge, while the on-street can supply up to 7.4kWh charge and support all new EVs using a standard AC charger.
Off-street AC EV chargers were integrated with existing parking payment terminals so users could start a charging session and pay for parking from existing parking hardware, or our app. This is the first time that a parking pay and display terminal will provide options for everyday park and charge users, making EV charging easier and more inclusive. The system is backed up with a 24/7 support line.
This innovative trial allows the Council to offer combined or separate parking and charging rates. Once the initial investment is recouped, the Council will enjoy a share of operating profits.
